Joshua Scott’s grin stretched from ear to ear after Bryce Harper paid him a visit at batting practice Thursday night.
He was calm and collected as he chatted with his favorite player, discussing his jersey and his trip up from North Carolina before posing for a few pictures.
“I’m still shaking a little bit,” Joshua said. “I really didn’t know he was coming to say hi. And then I looked up and was just like, ‘Oh wow!’
“He was just saying it’s great to meet me. And I was like, ‘No, it’s great to meet you.’”
Gregg Murphy cut to commercial and removed his headset to take a breather.
He was about halfway through the Phillies Radio Network’s pre-game show before the start of a weekend series with the Padres on July 2.
He spoke out loud, running through the rest of the show in the snug broadcast booth.
“The next three blocks are pre-recorded before I go back on live,” Murphy said.
“Segments,” color commentator Kevin Frandsen said abruptly. “You’re on radio now. They’re not blocks, they’re segments.”
